When I was here 10 years ago, there was no Skytrain in Bangkok. It is a huge step forward since the traffic back then was already totally jammed. It still is nowadays, so imagine..

Sukomvit has everything to offer for the richer Thai and "farang" (whites). Life in the fast lane. It is a typical street in Bangkok where the economic development is very high. And that is the guiding principle of "Streets of the World". Looking at the streetlife in the developed places. And what conclusions can you draw from that. Of course I don't only go to Sukomvit; therefore I know that Thailand is about a lot more than what Sukomvit shows.

For a reportage you have to make choices, otherwise it becomes a mess. The choice is: Streetlife in the centre of every capital in the world. Why? That is where prosperity is, or should be, high. That is where the forces of our time combust, which forms a common denominator. A measuring point. For the status of the world in good places. If you look at all the photos side by side. But that'll take a while. Five years of travelling around the streets of the world.
