Washington D.C.

I haven’t had such a hard time taking a photo during the Streets project as I’ve had with the Washington one. But why? Because the US has a thousand faces? A thousand places? Because I love my American friends. But I’m not a great fan of American politics. How to capture al these contemplations in one photo?

I’ve tried to show Americans in a way you wouldn’t expect. Just regular people having lunch in a park somewhere in Washington. Who are they? Are they the politicians, the lobbyists, the activists? The Americans that choose their government. The government that goes to great lengths to ensure the American way of life can continue. But at what price?

I don’t think I’ve succeeded with this photo. I will return to this complicated place. To try again.
