The first Streets photo of phase III of the Streets of the World project. Working my way up from the most southern tip of the mother of all continents all the way up to its most northern tip in about a year and a half. And what a good start in this young and amazing country!

Feeling somewhat at home in Windhoek, Dutch for Windy Corner, I observe a modern city with a relaxed and friendly people. Becoming fully independent from South Africa in 1990 and given Walvisbaai in 1994, Namibia has gradually developed into a Multi Party Democracy leaving its history of apartheid behind.

Namibia’s economy, mostly based on mining, is tightly connected to South Africa’s and with a very diverse climate and astonishing flora and fauna Namibia attracts many tourists, more than a million per year. I wish I had some more time to enjoy this country but I have 55 more to go. And I’m just getting started...!
