WHY?

Skopje claims Alexander the Great. And so do the Greeks. But Skopje succeeded in erecting the highest statue of this heroic figure, who conquered half of the world in just a few years before passing away at an early age. After a heavy earthquake, the city is still licking its wounds.

WHAT?

Literally dressed in classical garb to emphasise their historical consciousness. Statues and commemorative symbols are everywhere. Identity is not for sale, but many keep on dreaming about past grandeur.
