WHY?
I live here, so the choice was easy: a canal. During our too short summers, to me they are the symbol of freedom, tolerance, equal rights and relaxation, everything Amsterdam means to me. Or used to mean to me. My country has changed over the past years and I don’t like where it’s going. Of course, you may wonder how all this beauty was financed? Colonies and the slave trade had a big part in it, I’m afraid. Still, today the Netherlands is one of the best countries to live in and I’m proud to be a Dutchman!
WHAT?
This little bath tub used to be a sailing boat. It even has an electric motor to steer these locals through this beautiful façade in my home town. When not taking photos around the world, this is where you will find me.
