The harbour is busy in the morning. On the left are cranes for serious lifting in competition with the small boys trying to make a little cash. Their relentless energy gives me hope for their future, but it sure is hard work.
Its geo-strategic position is what makes Djibouti an important country, not only for the military. Lots of Ethiopian products pass through, as Ethiopia is landlocked. I got the feeling it’s quite the smuggler’s paradise.
