WHY?
The zoo is a place where people love to gather. For two Lari (less than one US dollar or one euro) you can buy a ticket and the next thing you know you’re confronted by a penguin. Instead of looking at the bird, the girls take selfies. Even here people live in different realities.
WHAT?
The mothers are obviously not interested. Why care about animals when Twitter calls? When I returned the next day, the penguin was gone. Terrible rainfall had literally swept away the zoo! The penguin was found weeks later, swimming in a river at the border, hundreds of miles from Tbilisi! A true survivor...
