WHY?

Kiribati is very stretched out, but one can hardly speak of a ‘territory’: in total it accounts for 5.1 million square kilometres, of which only 717 are land, hardly ever visited by tourists. The population contributes to a healthier planet by producing next to zero CO2. Kiribati is on the international date line, which is quite disturbing when travelling there: is it still today or already tomorrow?

WHAT?

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, this is one of the atolls that is predicted to disappear under the sea by 2100. Meanwhile, there is nothing better than to relax in a plastic chair, surrounded by bananas and more bananas. There is just one road, so this is the best spot to do business.
