WHY?

The Congo river is the natural dividing line between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo, together once a French colony, and part of Equatorial Africa until independence in 1960. Ghosts are said to haunt the little island in the background. Nobody dares to go there!

WHAT?

Relaxing means drinking and eating on the shore. Pop-up bars sell liquor, cigarettes and snacks to families and lovers who escape the heat and hustle of Brazzaville. I was running away from the suffocating corruption and enjoying a beer with my new friends.
